Mission Statement

To provide a medium for the interchange of Knowledge, Technology and Safety Practices, useful to the Contemporary Glass Artist.

Forum Rules

This forum is available for free interchange of the above. We expect that you observe proper decorum while visiting here.

1. Real names, first and last are PREFERRED to register on this site. If you choose to register under a pseudonym /nickname you might be notified that this is not acceptable and asked to re-register under your real name. If your pseudonym/nickname is deemed unacceptable and you are asked to re-register under your real name, an you do not do so within two days, your pseudonym login will be removed from the users list. Also no alter egos are allowed (second login). All registration of users will be approved by system administrators before you are granted access to system (other than read only). This is done manually and may take up to 24 hours, at which time you will have access.

2. Profanity is not acceptable EXCEPT in channels that we deem appropriate for such language. Messages containing profanity will be edited or deleted if they are deemed in poor taste. Continued use of profanity in INAPPROPRIATE channels will result in warnings, which will cause your postings to be moderated or you may be banned from system.

3. Racism, personal attacks, and derogatory remarks about individuals are not acceptable and will not be tolerated. Edit, moderation and banning policies apply here also.

4. It is not acceptable to slam or post derogatory remarks about other messaging forums. You can freely mention any other message board here, including links to such. But if you can not say anything complimentary or positive about another message board, please don’t bother commenting at all. Edit, moderation and banning policies apply here also.

5. It is not acceptable to slam or post derogatory remarks about a Company, their products, or practices. You can freely mention any Company or their products, but if you can not say any thing complimentary or positive about that Company, then please don’t bother commenting at all. If you have an issue about a Company's product or practices, please take it up directly with that Company. Edit, moderation and banning policies apply here also.

6. All materials on this board (in text and/or graphical form) remain property of person(s) who created them. We do not presume to make any copyright claims on any materials posted on this forum. We do ask that if you link to any information on this board to another source, that you give credit to the creator of the document or graphics and its source. It is recommended that you place “watermarks” on any graphics to prevent unscrupulous persons from pirating graphics to be used against your wishes. Text articles may also contain copyright notice if you desire. This does not give you permission to “lift” copyright materials from other forums or publishing’s and post them here without copyright holder’s expressed permission.

7. Forum policies and rules that need to be discussed between Administration and aggrieved parties, will be in private (via e-mail or PM system). There is no need to argue policies publicly. It is ok to make public suggestions in the appropriate channel (Member's Input) for suggested changes, but to argue perceived injustices publicly is not acceptable. We definitely value your input and if you feel that any of the rules are unfair, then please contact the Administrator directly to discuss. Edit, moderation and banning policies apply here also.

8. The System Administrator(s) make the rules, can change the rules without notice, and will enforce the rules. Your actions on this forum may dictate how rules may change.

9. The views and comments expressed on this system are solely those of the "user". They do not necessarily reflect or agree with or have the endorsement of the owners or operators of this board. Owners, administrators, or moderators cannot be held liable for any information or misinformation expressed, implied, or contained within this forum.

10. Charity Auctions are great and wonderful things but we feel that they best be handled through their own host sites. Feel free to post notices or links to your Charity's Auctions, but do not expect "Art Glass Answers" to be an agent to host Charity Auctions or the collection/distribution of funds. We feel there are enough places where you can contribute without us acting as a agent.

11. Signature Lines are allowed on this forum, with the exception of pictures or images in your signature line. We feel that pictures and images make a particular post much longer than it needs to be, and also that they can detract from the post. Please try to limit your signature lines to 5 lines or so.

12. Member web sites that are NOT directly related to Glass Art in some fashion are not allowed. This will cause your member account to be deleted as well as the link to your non-glass art web site. We are promoting Glass Art and related items and NOTHING else. Signature Lines containing non-related web sites are also not allowed and will be deleted.

If you do not accept or respect these rules, it would be in your best interest to quietly go away. These rules are in place to protect all those who care about having a non-threatening place to promote the free exchange of information and technology.
